BCNY Scholarship Procedure

Procedure

• Scholarship funds shall be administered by the Church Growth Committee of the Executive Board of the Baptist Convention of New York.
  
• Applications for scholarships can be secured from:

• All applications must be submitted to the Church Growth Committee no later than March 1st of the calendar year of projected registration.
  
• All applications must be completed in their entirety to be considered by the Church Growth Committee. Any category where information is unavailable, an explanation must be provided.
  
• The application must be accompanied by the following letters of recommendation:
  • their church
  • their Pastor
  • one other church leader, and
  • their school counselor or teacher.
    
• A letter of acceptance from the school to be attended must be on file with the Church Growth Committee at the Baptist Convention of New York before the scholarship check is mailed. Application may be submitted previously, and the letter of acceptance forwarded when acceptance is confirmed.
  
• The applicant must be classified as a full-time student and maintain a C average.
• The Baptist Convention of New York accountant will provide the Church Growth Committee with a written projection of the funds available for allocation by the Spring Church Growth Committee meeting.
  
• The awarding of scholarships will be determined by the Church Growth Committee with due consideration to equal distribution as allowed by the Trust Agreement.
  
• A letter of notification will be sent to each applicant after the Spring Executive Board Meeting.
  
• Scholarship Renewal requests should be accompanied by a current transcript and a completed renewal application.
