We believe that the most effective and efficient way to reach the lost of our convention territory is by planting vital, evangelizing, discipling, reproducing churches within walking or driving distance of every person in their own heart language.
The Baptist Convention of New York desires to see every church in our convention territory to be involved in church planting at some level, either through prayer, people, or financial assistance. The goal of the Missions Division is to come alongside 18-20 church planting churches within the convention territory in order to assist them in training, assessments, encouragement, coaching and perhaps funding. This will mean the cooperation with the lead pastor, the associational missionary, and the church planting strategist. The long term goal is to see 60 of these type of multiplying churches within the next 5 years, and to see 45+ new churches each year. These new churches will consist of all kinds and types in order to reach all people. Presently, in addition to our anglo churches, the BCNY has intentional work being done with 41 people groups.
