Nurturing a Christian Worldview
A missions environment involves an understanding of the biblical concepts of missions, an awareness of the large number of people who are without faith in Christ, and an acceptance of the responsibility that Christians have for ministering to the needs of people and sharing the gospel. Nurturing a missions environment means helping churches understand their responsibility for sharing the gospel locally and globally.
In Matthew 28:18–20 (NRSV), Jesus gives us our specific mission statement: “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”
Mission education offers Christians of all ages opportunities for fellowship, ministry, witness to others, and personal spiritual growth. Children and preschoolers are taught about God's love, become aware of the needs of others, learn the importance of prayer; and start doing missions themselves. Youth grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, learn to witness, participate in missions projects, and explore issues that affect youth. Students have the opportunity to learn more about missions and get involved in ministry projects and short-term missions trips at home and around the world. Adults meet together for Bible study, witnessing, learning about world issues, and participating in missions projects.

NAMB Mission Education
The purpose of Mission Education is. . .
To help Churches call out and equip workers for the harvest.
To help Christians discover how they are created to “fit” in God’s mission.
To encourage the spiritual transformation of “regular” Christians into “on mission” Christians and “regular” churches into “on mission” churches, using Mission Education organizations, resources, strategies and events designed to awaken Christians and churches to personal involvement in the Great Commission, help them to make adjustments that allow them to actively join God on mission, and grow to be passionate advocates for worldwide mission causes.
